Dr Kumar completed his graduation in dentistry from the prestigious Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, Karnataka in the year 2002. In the year 2004, he joined the Indian Army as a short service commissioned officer in Army Dental Corps. During his tenure he served at various remote locations along the border areas, including Kargil in Jammu & Kashmir. On the Occasion of Independence Day, on 15th Aug 2006, he received Army Commanders Commendation Card for his exemplary service in Army.

After completion of his successful tenure in the army, in the year 2009, he joined College of Dental Sciences Davangere, Davangere, Karnataka for post-graduation in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics. He completed his MDS  in the year 2012 and was among the top rankers in RGUHS University, Bangalore.

He joined Awadh Dental College & Hospital, Jamshedpur as Assistant Professor in the Year 2012 and soon thereafter established his private practice. Presently he is the Director at SmilesNBraces Dental & Orthodontic Care Centre, Jamshedpur and is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, ADCH. In addition to guiding numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students he has successfully treated hundreds of orthodontic patients with complex malocclusion.

Dr Kumar is a sports enthusiast and loves following the Indian National Cricket Team in his free time.  These days he has also developed a keen interest in spirituality.
